The world famous Guildhall School of Music & Drama London presented their prestigious international Chamber Music Festival 2026 last weekend and invited 6 of our most advanced young string players from Poole Society for Young Musicians.
Thank you enormously to the Head of Chamber Music Matthew Jones for an inspiring masterclass on Brahms sextet in B flat movement 1 & the opportunity to attend an amazing festival recital too.
We are incredibly proud of our local young musicians for their outstanding preparation during the lead up to their performance of this epic piece.
It was a really fun & brilliantly inspiring day all round, and fabulous to also meet the legend Endellion quartet cellist David Waterman and also the world famous violinist Maxim Vengerov. We thank the Frost Trust, SoundStorm and our sponsors Mr Archer & Mrs Dipple for making this extremely high quality music provision possible for young musicians from all backgrounds to work together.
Our very own local alumni violinist Lewis Lee took part in the finale evening festival recital. We are so proud of Lewis who is a ex student of Bournemouth school before he studied a music degree at Oxford then Guildhall.
