Inspiring Day for Young Cellists with Rebecca Gilliver
Our young cellists enjoyed another fabulous day at PSYM, this time in the company of the inspirational Rebecca Gilliver, Principal Cello of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Throughout the day, Rebecca shared a wealth of musical and technical expertise, offering valuable guidance and encouragement to each participant. The students benefited enormously from her experience and insight, not only through their individual sessions but also by learning from one another in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The day was filled with enthusiasm, creativity and enjoyment, with homemade cake and cello ensemble sessions providing welcome opportunities for everyone to relax and make music together.
The event concluded with a captivating solo recital by Rebecca, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Zoltán Kodály, showcasing both her artistry and musicianship. Rebecca was then joined by our own cellists for a wonderful ensemble performance, bringing the day to a memorable close.
We were also delighted that our own Simon Gilliver accompanied so beautifully on piano throughout the afternoon, contributing greatly to the success of the event.
It was an inspiring and enriching experience for all involved, and we are extremely grateful to Rebecca for sharing her time, expertise and passion with our young musicians.
